The intestinal mucosa is now regarded as one of the most important immune organs in the human body. A large proportion of immune cells is located in the gut-associated lymphoid tissue (GALT), which interacts closely with the intestinal microbiota. Microbial imbalances (dysbiosis) may be associated with disturbances of the intestinal barrier, inflammatory processes in the intestinal mucosa and altered immune regulation.
Factors such as diet, age, stress, infections or medications — particularly antibiotics — can influence the composition and function of the individual gut microbiome. Bacterial cultures containing Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus strains are frequently used in nutritional concepts to support bacterial diversity and to bridge sensitive phases, for example after antibiotic treatment or during periods of unbalanced nutrition.
Dietary fibers such as inulin and resistant dextrin belong to the group of fermentable carbohydrates that are only minimally absorbed in the small intestine and serve as substrates for microorganisms in the colon. The short-chain fatty acids produced during fermentation (e.g. acetate, propionate, butyrate) are discussed as important metabolites in relation to intestinal barrier function, the local pH environment and immune modulation.
Bifidobacterium animalis ssp. lactis, Bifidobacterium longum ssp. infantis, Lactobacillus acidophilus, L. brevis, L. casei, Lactococcus lactis ssp. lactis, L. plantarum, L. rhamnosus, L. delbrueckii ssp. bulgaricus, Enterococcus faecium
9 × 10⁹ CFU per daily dose – standardized colony count for a defined bacterial supply.
Inulin from chicory root (water-soluble dietary fiber) as a substrate for the contained cultures.
Resistant dextrin provides an additional role as a fermentable dietary fiber with good solubility and neutral sensory properties.
Plant-based HPMC capsules, free from gelatin and animal-derived ingredients – suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets.
