Skin, hair, and nails belong to the tissues with the highest rate of cell division in the body. Their structure depends largely on the availability of specific micronutrients and structural amino acids:
According to EFSA, biotin contributes to the maintenance of normal hair, normal skin, and normal mucous membranes. It is involved in keratinization and plays a role in the energy metabolism of epithelial cells.
Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal hair, skin, and nails and helps protect cells from oxidative stress. It therefore addresses both structural aspects (collagen and keratin formation) and the stabilization of sensitive cellular structures against free radicals.
Folic acid is involved in normal blood formation as well as in cell division—processes that are important for the intact regeneration of hair follicles and skin layers.
Pantothenic acid is required for the synthesis of coenzyme A and contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism as well as to normal mental performance. Through coenzyme A, it is closely linked to fatty acid metabolism and thus to the barrier function of skin and mucous membranes.
L-cysteine (provided as N-acetyl-L-cysteine) is a sulfur-containing component of the structural protein keratin, which forms the basis of hair and nails.
Silicon derived from millet has traditionally been used as a trace element associated with connective tissue, skin, and hair; it is found in relatively high concentrations in hair fibers and nails.
Overall, Skin Hair Nails combines evidence-based nutrients with authorized health claims with structural components relevant for keratin and connective tissue. This combination may be particularly suitable in contexts of increased cosmetic demands, nutrition-related insufficiencies, or as part of holistic skin and hair support concepts.
Contributes to the maintenance of normal hair, normal skin, and normal mucous membranes.
Contributes to the maintenance of normal hair, skin, and nails and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
Is involved in cell division, normal blood formation, and the normal function of the immune system; it is particularly relevant for tissues with high regeneration rates.
Is a component of coenzyme A and contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Is a stable precursor of L-cysteine, a key molecule for the keratin structures of hair and nails.
Serves as a plant-based source of silicon, traditionally used in formulations for skin and hair.
Compatible with vegetarian and vegan diets and free from problematic additives.
